This picture mainly depicts German heavy artillery, but also shows off lighter field artillery as well along with tanks.
Just as in World War One, artillery played a massive role in World War Two. While ww1 saw larger artillery, as they could more easily be pulled up to the static trench lines, ww2 saw a major increase in naval artillery bombardments, massive railways guns, coastal defense guns, and the heaviest possible artillery that could, at the same time, be mobile. But, the major difference between the wars was, of course, how tanks were used.
