Grumpy baby on a lazy Sunday.
Double O Shisha.
A US Special Forces trainer (prone) and Chadian soldiers with the Special Anti Terror Group Laid down inert suppressing fire during a training exercise along the Chari river. Lots of blanks fired and imaginary Boko Haram militants killed and captured as a result of this simulated daylight raid. American #SOF and other US forces with #Africom are working with regional partners this month as part of a growing effort to boost security relationships in the region. On assignment this week for the @nytimes in #chad.
New work out in the @nytimes today from #Fordlandia, in the Brazilian #Amazon. Henry Ford and the #Ford Motor Company tried to establish a rubber plantation in this remote corner of the Amazon in the 1920s. After spending a fortune and nearly 10 years trying to plant trees that were plagued by disease and pests, Ford abandoned its project in Brazil, abandoning an entire town that had been staffed and inhabited by Brazilian and American employees. Today, many of the original structures remain, while others have been reclaimed by the forest. #photography #instagram #photojournalism
